A Bray Chat

I'd brought the big lens with me specifically for this walk between Bray and Greystones, after reading promises of remarkable wildlife. As it was the wildlife wasn't too forthcoming, but Black Guillemots are amongst my favourite birds, so it was nice to spot these two having a chat as we got near to our return to Bray.

Heading out we'd ascended straight up Bray Head, with a stunning view, and wound up on a higher (much higher) route than the normal cliff walk. We managed to find our way back down about 2km from Greystones and here made our mistake - we headed towards there. See, at this point the path turned immensely dull, corralled between fences with grass fields on either side. And Greystones itself was something of an anti-climax, so after a disappointing fish and chips we decided to walk the return, rather than take the train, to see the cliffs we'd missed by starting in the high path.

The birds, views, ice cream before, and frappucinno after, all made the walk (about ten miles in the end) worthwhile. As did the continuing sun.

But now was time for some proper Dublin pubbin'. It being a work night for Iain we kept it light, only indulging in a few pints in a few different establishments, skilfully avoiding the 'diddle-de-dee' touristy pubs, or heavyweight Temple Bar stag do places.

As with all trips like this... It's all going to be over far too soon.
