A little beauty

This dinky Chipmunk was the highlight of my day after spending hours in the van looking for birds. We were in forests surrounded by birdsong but seeing the birds themselves was tricky. They're busy flitting from branch to branch, stocking up on food, not on drying still and posing until I could get a good look!  A little American Red Squirrel also found he had an audience and froze a little (extra) but it was the best pic I could get. 

The last couple of nights have seen the temperatures drop so some colour is now coming to the deciduous trees. Not exactly blazing yet but the potential is obvious to see!

I have come down with a cold and am feeling a bit under the weather. See how things go for tomorrow's planned jinks.
