In the Cage

This is the second book I have had to get for this term - the third is Vanity Fair by William Thackeray which luckily was one we already had on our bookshelves!
The general theme is America at the end of the nineteenth century, and that is certainly very interesting!! I had no idea about the poverty in places like New York!! … and no doubt in parts of London as well..?
