Logical progression?

A couple of days ago I planted some first year Cyclamen at this, one of my "Watering holes" hopefully reducing wait-for-flower time by 1-2 years.  
IF I'd waited for seed it'd be next year sometime to gather them - THEN - one more year to reach this stage. 
       Let's be cruelly/brutally honest here.  I've outlived Dad by five years, plus only just equalled Mam, though I  am, probably, just a tad healthier/fitter than them, both in their own way "ailing".
