Untouched

As I watched the afternoon light stream into the room I decided to use it for my blip. While processing the image I found myself thinking about the fireplace more than the light. Where I live we don't often have a true need for fireplaces but I have used it for warmth and it makes the room cozy and wonderfully romantic. Right now it's a rather large dark, brick hole in the wall. I did prepare it for a fire after Thanksgiving and before Christmas... Now, over 6 months later, we are in summer....plenty warm days ahead outside...the afternoon light shines on the dark hole...the hearth visible through glass doors...untouched...set and ready to light...
