Telyashayakh Mosque

Guess who forgot to change the time on their phone and went ahead and set the alarm, which then went off a whole hour earlier than it needed to?!

A nice breakfast in the garden, next to the pool, was the first thing on our agenda. Denise had arranged for one of her Uzbek colleagues to take us to the Telyashayakh Mosque for a wander around. It reminded me bit of one I went to in Morocco back in '99. Lots of photos taken on both cameras and a tough choice for which to Blip. The library next door is home to the 7th Century Osman Quran - said to be the world's oldest. The same age as the plane I came in on!

After that we took a stroll around Abdulkasim Medressa, where there were artisans at work - pottery, woodwork, laquerwork etc etc, before retiring for lunch at a German brewery to get out of the mid-day sun. Spent the afternoon walking through Navoi Park where there were groups of lads in their boxers, jumping into the man-made lake! Was quite jealous about that, so we pootled on home for a dip in the pool before the sun went down.
