Chester FC 2 Nantwich Town 1

Fair play to Dave for selling half time draw tickets in shorts despite the rain and general horrible weather.

Chester won this FA cup tie with a goal in the 94th minute just as I was rescheduling Tuesday in my head as it looked like the game was heading for a replay. I thought Chester just about deserved it but I feel sorry for Nantwich who had equalised late in the game. The Nantwich manager, Paul Carden, is a former Chester player who I have a lot of time for and I had a chat with him before and after the game. There was a photo of him on the cover of one of my books a few years ago.
