Protest

My two lovely women went to a protest against the extreme right wing political party AfD (alternative for Germany). Hesse will have state elections next week Sunday. The AfD tried to have a election event in Darmstadt but were not successful. A village between Darmstadt and our place however allowed the event.
In case you are not aware: big parts of the AfD are quite similar to the neo-nazis parties/groups Germany had until 1945. Just add Trump, Meloni, Le Pen, Wilders, and all those others and you will get the leaders of the AfD.
The silly thing is that, although the media is very clear about what to think about the AfD, many Germans still vote on them. Meanwhile they have grown to Germany's second biggest party (if federal elections would be now).
A great group of organisations, parties, groups organised a demo. At the same time the protestant and catholic churches organised another demo. Both demos were intended to show that many people do not agree with the AfD politics. They want colourful instead of brown (the colour for right wing here).
Unfortunately the police had cordoned off a big area around the hall where the AfD was gathering. So probably they will not have heard or seen anything of it. Perhaps their media will report about it, but probably not showing the real numbers (at least 1000 at the first demo).

Hanulli has "Solidarity instead of Hatred", Teba has "Inclusion instead of AfD" on their shirts.

In the meantime Caspar and I had a long walk of 2 and a half hours. My contribution was to bring them and pick them up afterwards. Demonstrations are not my favourite.
