A good day

We walked down to the Victorian Precinct for coffee with a friend, then to the Farmers’ Market.  We took our shopping trolley with us today, which made getting our purchases home a lot easier, especially as we picked up some coffee grounds from the café.  They’ve now been scattered around the garden.

Yesterday afternoon we brought the various components of the sideboard up into the entrance hallway and placed them on a big drop sheet, and I put a second coat on the top of the sideboard and the upstand and also on the top of the little table I’m doing at the same time. Today I just did a bit of touching up of the chalk paint and let that dry.  MrMacD put the upstand on the top and hung the two doors, then I plucked up my courage and used the aerosol can of gold paint to add a touch of glitz.  After that dried MrMacD sprayed on two coats of varnish. Tomorrow the handles can go on and it’ll be done and can be moved into the dining room area.

Scenes from our walk today:
Top Left: Oamaru Hospital - I really like the symmetry
Top Right: Flowers in Jones Park
Middle Left: A pair of ducks guarding what seems to be a newly-laid egg
Middle Right: The sky over Awamoa Park as we walked home
Bottom Left and Right: More flowers in Jones Park
