Valencia

A day in Valencia today....very hot, busy  and lots of walking! Highlight for us - coming across La Nau, a stunning small building, part of the University of Valencia, in the old part of the city and dating back to 1497. There were several really interesting little exhibitions. Our favourite by a Spanish sculptor, Andreu Alfaro, called 'Draw the Space'. He experimented with steel and aluminium, using geometrical knowledge to create abstract works, playing with light and reflection. His works always began by drawing and I thought his sketches with just 3 lines were really interesting. Main blip - metal sculptures with the base being reflected below. Extras - 3 lines and a collage of Valencia. We also visited the science park, Turia gardens and enjoyed a sharing platter in the city for a late lunch.
