Arbroath Abbey and Visitor Museum

Declaration of Arbroath

The purpose of the Visitor Museum is to describe and explain the Declaration of Arbroath. We visited to see the tapestry shown in the extra Blipfoto.

The tapestry relates to the Declaration and was recently created by a group of women whose average age is 83. The complex frame and cabinet , by Angus Ross of Aberfeldy, resembles a sailing vessel at sea when the side panels are closed.

Remarkable workmanship in sewing and in joinery. Arts and Crafts, indeed.

A journey to Arbroath requires a mandatory lunch stop at the Bell Rock restaurant to enjoy a Breaded Arbroath
Smokie with Chips. Excellent food choice. Then an enjoyable journey back home.

Strictly Come Dancing Result. Just as we predicted.
