A Bomb Dome and the 'T' Bridge. Hiroshima

Today we visited Hiroshima.

This was where the Atom Bomb was dropped on August 6 1945 which led to the end of the Second World War in Asia.

The bomb exploded above this building, the Hiroshima Industrial Promotion Hall, leaving only vertical walls whilst the side blast flattened most structures in a wide radius and killed thousands of people.

The T shaped bridge on the left was used as a marker for the bomber crew to drop their load.

The Memorial Museum is a 'must' to be visited and a reason for this should never happen again.
