Could this be a rabbit?

The grass surrounding the sweet chestnut trees in Pollok Park is covered with the fallen fruits.  

Some very prickly casings are still complete, some have split open releasing their nuts onto the grass and there are some where the nuts are quite tenacious and are happy to nestle in their spiky, green casing.
