Rural Jura

Went for a longer walk today, following one of the waymarked walks through the forest and up onto the Mont d'Or ridge. Beautiful weather at first - the Blip shows the view towards the limestone cliffs which make up the north eastern side of the ridge, together with the products of the forestry industry & the producers of the raw material for the local cheese.

By the time we circuited around & reached the top of the ridge the weather had, of course, changed, so instead of views to the Alps we had mist, wind & squally showers. We took the sensible decision to get down to a more sheltered area & devised our own route back through the forest on the dip slope of Mont d'Or - but that's mountain walking - & the planned 16/17Km ended up as 21!
