Neighwhere Better

After a whole lot of flawless, seamless and (quite frankly) masterful event planning, we pulled off a huge War Horse launch event for special guests and the press today.

And when I say huge, nothing was big enough about this event to compare with the shock and awe of Joey, the National Theatre's three-man horse puppet. 11 stone heavy - and that's without a rider on his back. When he came into the room the 600+ guests reacted as though we had just unveiled John Merrick: gasping, applauding, getting to their feet, camera flashes going off everywhere. Had he been a real horse I do believe he would've been spooked, but even after Joey's behaviour had calmed down, there was nothing subduing the audience, who all left with huge smiles on their faces.

The show isn't touring up to Edinburgh until January, but there could not be more buzz about the city than there is today. So rewarding to have achieved something this big at work only two months into the job.
