Weird!

Went geocaching with friends today and came across this weird tree. Not sure what's going on here.
We found all the caches although some were tricky and some left us bleeding due to fierce thorns.
Walked about 4 miles in all. 
Had to dash to Wynsors on the way there to buy new wellies as the ones I had are tight on the instep and my shoulder isn't up to tugging wellies off. I considered managing with boots but after all the rain we've had I wasn't sure they'd cut it. Wellies were a very wise choice! My new ones are size 6 but feel bigger and were easy to slip on and off. I might keep the tight ones for use at home when washing stuff in the garden or for when it snows!
