Wishing Well

I was out trying to contact some of our property owners with private water supplies today. Properties have changed hands and some of the telephone numbers are no longer in use so visits were needed to re-establish contact.

Most of the private supplies in our area are now on boreholes as the safest source of water.  The greater depth of extraction of the water means that it is naturally filtered as the water percolates down through the ground.  This property was originally served from another source, but a dispute with the neighbour has meant they’ve brought their well back into use. They have installed their own filtration, as a well is considered to be a shallow source and can be more affected by local contaminants.
