Big old tree

I don't know what kind of tree this one is, but its trunk is at least 3 feet (1 meter) wide.   I always wonder if the original owners of the house planted it.  

Thanks for the well wishes for Pixie: so far she is good with the sensor and hopeful we can start her on the insulin tomorrow.
