Tynemouth Beach

If I'm honest I sat on a wall atop this beach watching the participants down there jumping into the sea. 
Up top, it was not warm. There was a good crosswind where I say. I'd expect down at sea-level it was pretty much the same. So, with swimmers doing their wild swimming thing and standing on the beach I expect a few of them much have been pretty cold. I never expect the North Sea to be tropical, but I suppose it's not entirely inhospitable either.
