the sierra del sueve

The Sueve was one of the tribes that made up Asturias. The Sierra del Sueve would perhaps be where they were based. It would have made a fine stronghold, with steep access only, whether from north or south. It rises to 1,160 metres and sits almost on the coast, separate from the Picos though not far away from them. Here it´s seen from El Peralín (translates as "small pear tree or orchard"), itself 500 metres high, near Torazo in Cabranes.
