Superstar

by Rita Coolidge (Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour)

Today I managed to squeeze into my travel to Coventry  a visit to Kenwood House in Hampstead Heath. And the reason is seen in the blip. The Guitar player by Johannes Vermeer, my superstar in painting. This is my #36 of the 37 Vermeer paintings that can be viewed. One to go.

The guide told me an interesting story of Paul McCartney who likes the painting and discussed it with the guide. Sir Paul was convinced that the fingers indicate that the lady is tuning the guitar and thereby the position of her head i.e. not due to looking at something to the left of painting. I trust Sir Paul.

Long live Ukraine!
