Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

View from my Bench #3

At the new Capital Hill Steps Park .  All those plants got very dried out this summer but are looking OK now.  There is always a security person hanging out at the parking entrance of the building next door.    Rain this afternoon.
I added the Coast Salish Loon as today is Indigenous People’s Day, slowly replacing “Columbus Day”…..celebrating people who were already here when Columbus “discovered” America .   It’s not yet an Official Federal Holiday but many  (17?) states and  (200?)cities officially celebrate it.    The 2nd time Seattle officially celebrated the holiday with gatherings,  a parade, speeches, and music downtown.   It’s so reasonable and overdue.
