Pansy seeds in their pod

When I looked closely at the lovely bright and colourful pansy flowers in a container outside the back door I started dead heading the recently faded flowers. I don't do this often. Only then did I realise that some of the very old flowers had formed seed pods, as they should.

I thought they deserved recording with the macro lens and am delighted to have done so. I had no idea what they looked like and they seem so unusual. Another reason for leaving nature to its own devices, and not interfering in the cause of tidiness and a neat garden. I must try to sow some of these seeds.
