Calm sea and prosperous voyage

This is the Ocean Youth Trust Scotland vessel Alba Venturer coming through the Kyles of Bute this morning as we were on our way to Rothesay, with one of our aims  being to do the weekly shop.

We  would normally have done that  in Dunoon, but that road  remains closed  and as the bridge at Loch Striven has now been condemned it is likely to stay that way for some considerable time, adding 40 miles to the round trip.

The title comes from a poem by Goethe, a cantata by Beethoven and a concert overture by Mendelssohn  but above all seemed  soothing given the image   an antidote to the  chaos , distress and upset of recent days.
