Flanked

Not one, but two new to me birds today. In the centre, an American Goldfinch making the most of thistle seeds in the prairie. I have seen these many times and always enjoy watching them. I can often get quite close to them and they carry on regardless.

On the left we have a Lincoln's Sparrow, according to the Merlin app and AllAboutBirds. Seems it's secretive, so I'm pleased to have seen one.

On the other flank is a Dark-eyed Junco, a bird I haven't even heard of before, let alone seen.

All three seem quite plump, hopefully that's a good sign they are preparing well for winter.
