Lowther Castle

Todays intention was to suss out the new cafe in Brougham Hall, the old one sold up months ago and reopened in Penrith but, you guessed it, it was closed!
Undeterred I carried on down the A6 and went to Lowther Castle instead. Sat out in the courtyard and enjoyed a cappuccino.
I then went into the Castle and grounds. The price has shot up to £14 but as I hadn’t been for a while, I went in.
Spent a lovely hour wandering, sitting, wandering again and sitting again. It brought back lots of happy memories. It used to be mine and Sal’s favourite place to escape to but it got too busy and noisy after they built the massive wooden castle play area.
