The Pensioner

A new buik has been embarked upon, this time one laid out and printed on paper which the SK ferried from home in her suitcase. The Bass Rock, by one Evie Wyld. Remarkably it appears that it’s entirely made up, though the Bass Rock is real enough. It seems this type of book (and I’m led to believe there are many examples of such work) is particularly popular with womenfolk. I struggle to understand what good can come of reading it, beyond the obvious good to the literary agent’s pocket lining from purchasing it in the first place. I shall endeavour to report back.
Later, a meal out of town, to Matias’s Can Capo up at S’Horta. Superb, as ever - and there was the shadowy figure of the mini-moke-driving cigar-chain-smoking chap himself. Non-fiction.
