We didn't have any firm plans for today, but when S got back from his early morning pilates class, it was so lovely we packed up and headed for the beach. A different one today, that we don't often go to. It's popular as a landing spot with paragliders and sure enough after about ten minutes, one cruised over and landed smoothly behind us. I might have got a better photo if my camera battery hadn't chosen this moment to go flat. The spare was flat too, so no more photos!

It's a nice beach in these conditions -- few people, the sea as still as a lake, and the shore steep enough that you only need to go out a couple of metres to be able to swim. The water was lovely too.  Once the heat built up and we were getting hungry, we went and had a refreshing drink at the convenient beach bar before going home for a salad and ice cream lunch at the Spanish hour of 3 pm.

This evening, our first intercambio of this visit. It was so great to see the usual suspects again, and we had a good chat and catch-up, as well as meeting some new people. We left around 10:30, and the bar-lined street outside was absolutely buzzing as if it was summer. It is a bank holiday tomorrow (Thursday) so there's a puente (long weekend) in prospect. Almuñecar will no doubt be busy with people heading down to enjoy the beach while they can.
