Surprise.

This was a surprise for the people living in Cockermouth over the last weekend.  This is what is left of the Old Courthouse.  Over recent years this building has been undermined, although improvements to the bank  were made a year or two ago, but last weekend's rain saw more undermining and this is the result.  The River Cocker is flowing behind the bushes  The bridge is closed to traffic and today a covered walkway was built for pedestrians to get from one side to the other without diversions,  No one knows when the road will reopen or when the buildings will be demolished.
Yes I was surprised I got out today,  I have had a heavy cold and that is on the way out.  During the week, I have found out why breathing has been difficult and await referrals to sort that out.
