Lonesome me

This hen pheasant has not found a mate.

She visits the garden almost daily to feed on the seed discarded or blown off the bird table, and sometimes has a bit of a spat with a hooded crow there for the same purpose.

Three years ago a pair of pheasants raised several young and brought them to our garden to feed; perhaps she is one of them. The cock pheasant, who was already very old by then hasn't been seen for some time, and as this isn't an area with a lot of pheasants she may never find a mate.
