Have Camera Will Travel

By cathy1947

Car trip.

Monty wasn’t feeling it this morning so we thought a car trip would be the way to go.

We travelled North to take in the breathtaking scenery of Snake Pass ( extras 1 2 3) engineered by Thomas Telford and opened in 1821. At its highest point 1680 feet above sea level. We thought this would be a good place to have lunch. It was blowing a gale so we stayed in the car.

After lunch we descended on the Eastern side to the Ladybower reservoir where we park up and take a short walk over the Dam  - built between 1935 and 1945. The reservoir supplies water to the cities of Nottingham Derby and Leicester.

We end our walk at  the Yorkshire Bridge  Inn, another drinking hole.
