Grotto view

What a view the fairies would have if they really did live in the Grotto at Painshill Park! Painshill is a recently restored 18th century landscape garden with very many sculptures and follies. This grotto is lined with shards of glass which twinkled when it was newly restored. Now it is closed again for more restoration but we could still look through to the lake beyond.

I was there with the WI Camera Group, a group of friends who enjoy the chance to get out together and take pictures at leisure, enjoy a chat and end our excursions with a good cup of tea. As usual on the second Wednesday, our meeting day, it was dark and gloomy, and by four o'clock it was raining.
