Avoirdupois

I've dug these cast-iron weights out for a little project we have on tomorrow. MrQ's parents used them in their greengrocery shop in London. Potatoes came in 56lb (half a hundred-weight) hessian sacks. We've got the, quite ornate, scales used for weighing potatoes and root vegetables in the shed.

My image shows the 56, 14 and 7lb weights. I still tend to think in pounds and ounces. 56lb equals 25.4012 kg.
