Sedum in Autumn

The weather certainly cooperated for our guests last full day in the states. I went out early looking for my blip. This lovely rock garden sedum made the cut. Our BIL made our guests a hearty breakfast accompanied by my sweet and savory varieties of scones. They drove the ATVs around the farm and up on the ridges until time for lunch. They requested the leftover entrees from yesterday rather than the sausages in the freezer making prep very easy. We added a crock of baked beans (another request) and sweet watermelon chunks to the meal. I cleaned the kitchen while the crew went to the creek again to hunt for more sea glass. Surprisingly, they found more. Hubby brought me blue and lavender samples. Just as Sugar and I were falling asleep, everyone returned. We are making a low country shrimp and kielbasa boil for dinner. We will add red potatoes, onions, baby carrots and corn on the cob. This meal is seasoned with Old Bay, a spice they always look for in their Christmas gifts so I am sure it will please them. See my extra - it went over very well. Ben mentioned he’s still not found cole slaw in all of his travels as good as mine so of course, there will be a big bowl on the table. Our guests’ flattery gets them their hearts desire every time. The evening will end with apple pie and ice cream around the fire pit. It seems when we have company, most of our time is spent in the kitchen. We have already started making plans for their next visit in a few years. It’s time for some R&R; hope that is on your agenda for the weekend. Stay safe and please pray for the innocent ones being maimed or killed around the world.
