Hill Top Ramblings

Bearded tits

We managed to get out of the house by 9 and headed to Leighton Moss. With Bonnie along, we had to take the dog route which leads over the causeway. To our delight, the Bearded Tits were right there on the grit trays, only a few metres away. There was a pair, obviously the male has the moustaches, and they picked a little grit and then climbed around on the reeds eating seeds. A perfect view and one I have longed to see for many a year! Imogen was less impressed, but enjoyed being rumbled along over the boardwalks.
We enjoyed some sunshine with them too, although this disappeared with a heavy rain shower.
Andrew brought home a rather good takeaway curry from the new place in Kendal and we enjoyed that, and a couple of rugby matches too.
