seven kings

This coronation stone was reportedly used in the coronation ceremonies of seven saxon kings.

Edward the Elder (8th June 900)
Athelstan (14th September 925)
Edmund (940)
Edred (16th August 946)
Edwy (January 956)
Edward the Martyr (975)
and
Ethelred H the unready 14th April 979

It has been moved about a little but has remained in Kingston very near the site of the coronations.

This is my dad John39 taking it's photo.
