Iris

There was more, heavier rain overnight but none today. Large patches of snow in summer are flattened and other flowers a bit battered but the garden has just soaked it all up and you can see the grass lengthening by the minute! We took a trip this afternoon to nearby Tarbolton and invested in a new strimmer, or brushcutter as they appear to be marketed as these days (Aussie influence, perhaps?). Our past experience with these devices is not good and we hope that the Consumer Association's recommendation pays off - it will have plenty of opportunity to perform over the summer.

By late afternoon there was a little sun that brought out the camera. More gardening blips provided a difficult choice, this iris picked as it is flowering for the first time in 12 years, presumably because it was moved to a drier and sunnier position last year.
