The Pā

We were in the Waikato to attend our goddaughter's graduation from the University of the Waikato. The graduation ceremony was in this building. It's the new centrepiece for the Hamilton campus and was completed a couple of months ago. The audience and graduands were seated on the chairs at the front of the building (Atea) for the greeting by the Kaumatua. We then went inside for the conferring of the degrees. Many of the families and friends performed hakas and other songs during the ceremony so it was quite emotional at times. Followed by sarnies, pies and cakes. Extra shows the detail of the koruru.
