Baby thrush

There was a bit of an odd bird call this afternoon - turns out it was this wee thing.  I say 'wee'........check out the extra for a pic with mumma.  I think mumma looks a bit skinny compared to this chubby bubba.....she's obviously working hard to keep him well-fed.  So cute - and hardly  out of the nest by the look of it.  Is it usual for baby birds to be virtually tail-less?  Something I've never really noticed before.  

In rugby news, great to see England overcome Fiji though again, such a shame there had a to be a loser........another incredible game.  I wonder if the All Blacks might meet England in the final?  They'll have to get past South Africa first though - they spoiled the French host's party by knocking them out this morning.  Another excellent game - all four quarter finals have been absolute nail-biters!  Great entertainment value.
