Beinn Alligin

Bit of a cheaty blip today - just couldn't decided on which photo best summed up the day. We woke in Applecross the an absolutly gloriously day, loaded up the car and drove around to Torridon and to the Beinn Alligin car park. After an initial wrong turn (that the last time I listen to other walkers given directions!) we eventually reached Coir nan Laogh, reaching the top of Tom na Gruagaich for lunch. It was then a fun rocky traverse across to Sgùrr Mhòr. We competed the traverse of the ridge by going over the Horns of Alligin. It was then a foot race back to the car to make it to the village shop to pick up some much needed supplies. On the decent, we can across a Ptarmigan. This is not that unusal in the highlands, but what made this different was that this one let us great REALLY close, within a few metres.

We just made it to the village shop before it closed. As well as food for dinner we also got an a ice cream (we are on holiday!) and sat down on the edge of the Loch to eat them. Here we can across a very friendly dog who wanted play fetch. Reminded me very much much of the dogs we had when I was younger.

Another fantastic day. Both shattered, but that is a really good feeling after such a day.
