Abstract

The other day I noticed that I had a shot similar to this in my "Camera uploads" Dropbox folder - any shots I take with my phone automatically upload here (well, I say "automatically" - sometimes it needs a nudge to get going).

I looked at it for a moment and then realised what it was. My desk is in an alcove under the stairs, and I must have caught the camera button when I'd put my phone down - it's looking straight up from where I sit. The dark block on the right is a beam that runs from the front of the house to the back. The lighter wood is the edging to the alcove and, above it, the banister spindles.
