city reflection

We received a delivery of some new storage nodes and multi GPU nodes. All installed in the rack. The rack mounting kit is very straight forward. Luckily the big GPU boxes went into the bottom of the rack as they are quite heavy. I went to a super interesting talk on AI and medical instruments and how they can get regulated and tested. AI is adding a lot of complexity. One interesting question is who is to blame when something goes wrong: The people who wrote the software? The people who produced the training data set? the people who trained the AI? The people who applied the resulting model to the medical device? A huge can of wriggling worms. One thing I am taking to our users is that they need to carefully document all steps in there design to make validation and testing possible.

After work I met Rowan and Max to go to the very big DIY store to pick up some essentials and a foldable hand card. Our means to move from the current flat to the new flat is secured. I also heard back from customs. They want some more documents and the scanned form in triplicate. I think the point of digitisation has passed them by. Anyway, signed and scanned all three copies and sent them back as a single pdf...
