Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

Along the Silk Road

This was the scene on the golf course today. The shimmering, silvery  strands of  silk are the work of enormous numbers of gossamer spiderlings. The young spiders  disperse to pastures new by releasing a thread of silk into the air which is picked up by the wind and carried aloft. Eventually they fall back to the ground creating glistening sheets of silk on the grass.
