This view takes in the River Dee and Connah’s Quay power station complete with a plethora of pylons. Opened in 1996 it is gas-fired and replaced an existing coal-fired station, today it produces 1,420 MW of electricity.

Out of shot to the right of this image is the Tata steel works. Formerly John Summers and Sons, in their heyday employing over 13,000 people.
