Autumn chaos

The sunlight on the apples caught my eye. We didn't get many Cox's this year but the ones we got are delicious. They're sharing the worktop with some over-the-hill cucumbers that I don't really know what to do with and the beginnings of a Christmas cake, which is a present for a friend. I have been making this recipe since I was a kid - and my mum used to make the same cake with her mother.
