Flying the Flag of Union

It is good to know that the forecasters can get it so wrong; instead of the swathe of blue over central Scotland on the weather map yesterday evening predicting a cheerless rainy morning, the blue was transported upwards, the sun shining today out of a summery sky with bare arm temperatures and smiley faces.
My jacket was a mistake, but the sort of mistake that I was happy to have made given the circumstances.

The breeze through the trees caused the dense foliage of new leaves to move as though in a stately dance, and scattered the lime seeds like clouds of confetti over the path as I walked home. It seems as though summer is not done with us quite yet.

His Lordship is less than happy with his £400 crown which he had fitted this morning at the dentist whose child's private school fees he seems to be supporting. It does seem rather smaller than the surrounding teeth: perhaps it was a cost cutting tooth.
Fortunately his smile, hard won at the best of times, is such that no one but he will know the disparity.
