The Lozarithm Lens

The Old Forge (Tuesday 17th October 2023)

Diary blip. Work began on the frost damaged walls on Monday. A team of three began by pressure-washing the walls to displace loose chippings to enable the pointing and sealing that took place on Tuesday, utilising a scaffolding tower that is seen here through the study window. The house beyond the fence has been empty for over a year now and the garden is looking a little wild, although it has been tended to occasionally in the meantime (by Leaf Blower Man :(().

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Nick Mason - Can't Get My Motor To Start (recorded October 1979, at Grog Kill Studios, Willow NY)
R.I.P. Carla Bley (11 May 1936, Oakland CA - 17 October 2023, Willow NY)
Carla Bley (keyboards), Karen Kraft (lead vocal), Terry Adams  (harmonica & clavinet), Chris Spedding (guitars), Michael Mantler (trumpets), Gary Windo (tenor, bass clarinet, flute), Gary Valente (trombone), Howard Johnson (tuba), Steve Swallow (bass guitar), Nick Mason (drums, percussion)

Nick Mason of Pink Floyd's solo debut album Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports was written entirely by Carla Bley, and features many of her regular band musicians, leading some to consider it a Carla Bley album in all but name.
