Off for a walk

Today was another quiet day at the house. I've had lots of opportunity to catch up on reading.
This afternoon I went for a walk around and take a few pictures.
I found some interesting boutiques en route, including a little shop selling beautiful handmade papers; I managed to resist the temptation of buying out the whole shop! Customer service seems a big thing here- as soon as I walk into a place, I'm surrounded by people offering assistance, and when I decline they attentively stalk me round the shop just in case.
Everything here seems to be more intense - the smells, the colours, the weather. Things will seem very drab by comparison when I go back.
