Travels Through A Lens

Last Night in Vegas

We started the trip here and we are ending it here as we fly home tomorrow. Drove a stretch of Route 66 from Flagstaff to Kingman, heading towards L.A. before turning off heading north through the desert once again to Las Vegas and past Hoover Dam. No time to stop at the Dam but we've seen so many spectacular sites that I didn't mind missing this site.

Over 2,000 miles driven through 5 States (Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona), stayed in 8 places over 14 nights. Taken lots of photos. Met lots of great people.

It's been two weeks on the road, staying in motels, lodges and B&Bs and we booked the last night in Trump International on the 40th floor with a view over Vegas, huge bed, bathrobes, jacuzzi bath etc.

Met up with Giacomo at the Venetian, drank mojitos and had a lovely meal. Giacomo is one of those people you feel like you've known forever. So easy going and we talked photography and blip (of course) places visited and to visit in the States and the rest of the world. Family, food and drink and the time passed too quickly.

Thanks Giacomo for a lovely evening, from Chas and me :)

The picture was taken on one of the walkways in Vegas through glass. I didn't want to lug the Nikon around so it's an IPhone shot.

The people and sites of the little part of the States that I have seen have exceeded expectations.
