Apple Cake

Went out for lunch yesterday to a very nice restaurant where we had apple cake for dessert with apple sorbet. Was inspired enough to have a go at home today (just the cake, not the sorbet) and am looking forward to trying it. Quite an easy recipe and quick to put together - nice to make the most of the autumn apples.
